MOTHERS OF YOUNG CHILDREN (MYC)
WHO IS MYC?
Working mom, stay-at-home mom, stay-at-home dad, caretaker, grandmother, whatever your situation is; if you have a young child in your family or know someone who does, please keep reading – we have something to fit your needs.
WHAT IS MYC?
Mothers of Young Children (MYC) is designed to minister to families with young children throughout the community (not just St. Cuthbert members). Among other things, we support one another, share information and ideas, and build lasting friendships. The design of the group is multifaceted and includes:
-
Bible studies on Friday mornings at 9:30 (childcare is provided). Books are provided. Past studies include Twelve Extraordinary Women, Twelve Ordinary Men, and Divorce-Proof Your Marriage among others. We are currently finishing up the Chronological NIV Bible. Our next study will begin in late January and is Having A Mary Spirit: Allowing God to Change Us from the Inside Out by Joanna Weaver. We are very excited about this study and believe it is very timely for so many of us.
-
On-line forum group for those interested in the Bible study (or connecting with other moms), but unable to come to the Friday morning meetings.
-
Playgroups during the summer
-
Family events
-
Mom’s night outs
-
Monthly Kid’s Night In (3rd Saturday of each month from 5-9 PM) (Reservations are required, but the event is free)
-
Service projects/events as available and every other month at Loaves & Fishes with His Disciples Cooking Ministry every other month.
The children are invited and welcome to participate in all activities with the exception of the mom’s night out. Feel welcome to participate in one, several, or all of the different types of programs in this group!
The group is young at heart and full of energy with a desire to grow, share in each other’s lives, and grow in Christ (ironically, just like our children). No where else can you get potty training stories/advice, scripture, tales of the sweet innocence of a kindergartener, and prayer all in the same conversation. Please contact Pam Boutte for additional information or for answers to your questions. Please come and join us whenever you can. It will be an experience you won’t soon forget. |
