The Rev. Bruce Bonner is a native Texan and was born and raised in a clergy family. His father was a priest for some thirty plus years. Father Bruce’s love for the Episcopal Church has deep roots from the very beginning. The church has always been a special place for him to connect with friends and his extended Christian family. He says that at the age of 13, he received Christ into his life at a summer camp experience. Shortly after, Bruce felt God was calling him to be a priest in the Episcopal Church. After 20 years in the military, he entered seminary and became ordained in 1999, serving several churches in the Diocese of Texas. He has been an assistant at Church of the Epiphany, Houston; rector of St. Mark’s, Bay City; rector of Christ Episcopal Church, Cedar Park; and now the rector of St. Cuthbert.
Fr. Bruce and his wife Kathryn have been married for over 25 glorious years. They have two wonderful daughters and sons-in-law and four awesome grandchildren. He loves laughter, creating and re-purposing home projects, and family time and is passionate about building God’s kingdom.

Overall, Bruce tries with God’s help, each and every day to embody Matthew 22:37-38 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and will all your soul, and with all your mind… And you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
